Meditation, at its core, is a discipline that cultivates focused attention. It is a methodical process designed to foster a state of complete presence and alertness. This state, however, is often elusive as our minds have a tendency to drift away from the present moment and wander into the realms of the past or future.

1. The here and now

Just as a gardener cultivates the soil, plants the seeds, and nurtures the growth of plants, we too cultivate our minds through mindfulness.
